Free Movie Night Explores Women's Contributions to Civil Rights Movement

National Women's History Museum hosting a free movie night to view Oscar-nominated film Selma. Discussion afterwards on women's roles.

National Women’s History Museum will host a viewing of the Oscar-nominated movie Selma at the Martha Washington Library on August 27. Selma chronicles Martin Luther King’s campaign to secure equal voting rights via an epic march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama in 1965. Afterwards, we’ll talk about women’s roles in the Civil Rights Movement as well as how they are remembered in popular history. Popcorn and drinks will be included!
