Frye Road Gets Flashing Beacon At Crosswalk In Mount Vernon
The Virginia Department said improvements have been completed on a portion of the road near Richmond Highway.

MOUNT VERNON, VA — Improvements geared toward improving driver and pedestrian safety have been completed on Frye Road in Mount Vernon, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation. This area of Frye Road sees an average of 5,400 vehicles a day.
The work happened on one block of Frye Road between Richmond Highway and Madge Lane. Pedestrians now have rapid-flashing beacons with push buttons and audible indications for the visually impaired. Drivers will see flashing lights that mean they should stop before driving past the crosswalk.
