George Washington Rec Center Set For Brief Closure

MOUNT VERNON, VA — With Mount Vernon Rec Center shut down for its renovation and expansion project, another local rec center will temporarily be closed for renovations.

George Washington Rec Center at 8426 Old Mount Vernon Rd., Alexandria, VA, will be closed between July 24 and Aug. 18, Mount Vernon On the MoVe first reported. The closure will come as the Mount Vernon Rec Center at 2017 Belle View Blvd., Alexandria, VA is already closed for a multi-year renovation and expansion project. That project is expected to be completed in 2025.
