Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe is compromising on a controversial concealed gun permit issue, that was set to revoke concealed handgun permit recognition from 25 states, according to several media reports including The Washington Post.

The governor is doing an about face, after the Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring announced recently that Virginia would stop recognizing concealed gun permits from 25 states. Gun owners were taken aback by the action.
Since then, the governor and Virgina Republican lawmakers have met and are both walking away with something in a compromise, according to the reports.

The governor will receive the backing from GOP lawmakers on a measure that would keep firearms out of the hands of anyone who is subject to a permanent protective order for domestic violence.
The governor is set to announce Friday that Virginia will once again recognize concealed gun permits in reciprocity agreements it has with about 25 states.
