Food For Neighbors hopes to raise $17,500, so that it may provide 700 grocery store gift cards to 25 Northern Virginia schools for distribution to their most vulnerable students before winter break.

Food For Neighbors provides middle and high school students with access to a reliable food source. This helps students remain in school, as there's less pressure to work long hours to provide for themselves and/or their families. It also helps them stay focused when they're in school, as hunger is not interfering with higher thinking. Longer term, the benefit of being better students increases the likelihood that they'll be successful members of the community, which lifts up everyone.

“In this unique and challenging time for our families in need, it has been a true privilege to work with Food For Neighbors…. I cannot adequately describe the sincerity of the deep gratitude and relief that I see in the faces of … families. All I can say is THANK YOU. Thank you to the FFN founders, volunteers and to those who are willing to donate for those who need it the most. Your contribution really matters!”
