There is a homeless lady who can be found everyday sitting on the ground on a side road off of Rte 1 next to the Ft Belvoir entrance gate. What is troubling about this situation is that she is there religiously everyday in the rain, snow or sun. She evidently is not begging for money from passerby's but is focused on access to the nearby homeless shelter where she is able to find a meal and an overnight stay. Then after the next day she is out there again waiting to enter the shelter. I noticed the other day that she has been able to acquire a hooded jacket which affords some additional protection from the cold but more recently I noticed that she has to stand and move about because the air and ground is so cold. When is the county government going to do something for this poor human before she expires in the cold.
