Victims Dies After Intense Fort Hunt Fire (Updates)

Update: The fire department says the victim trapped during the fire in Fort Hunt has died.

FORT HUNT, VA—A man has died after being trapped during a severe fire Thursday afternoon in Fort Hunt.

Firefighters received reports of a trapped victim from a pool house in the 1000 block of Herbert Springs Road. The got the victim out and quickly transported to an area hospital. He was been identified as Rida N. Azer, 80.

Around 2 p.m., firefighters from Fairfax County and Alexandria arrived on scene to smoke showing from all sides of the one-story building near a pool. Officials say the fire was accidental, caused by a space heater too close to combustible materials.
