Krispy Kreme Celebrating 78th Anniversary Friday with a Deal

Like Krispy Kreme donuts? You’ll want to stop by on Friday. That’s when the national chain is celebrating its 78th anniversary with a special deal for customers.

Here it is:

Purchase one dozen of the company’s Original Glazed, and get a second dozen of Original Glazed for just 78 cents.

Krispy Kreme has a location at 6332 Richmond Highway. Store hours are 5:30 a.m. to midnight. The store also has a drive-through window.

The first-ever Krispy Kreme was started by Vernon Rudolph on July 13, 1937 in Winston-Salem, N.C. He got a recipe for his donuts from a French chef in New Orleans and began selling them with coffee. Today the varieties are endless: Chocolate? Chocolate icing? Sprinkles?
