Mailman Held Up by Masked Gunmen, Police Say

Two suspects wearing masks held up postal worker on his route Tuesday morning near Groveton Elementary School, police say.

Fairfax County Police say a U.S. Postal Service employee was robbed at gunpoint in broad daylight this week near Groveton Elementary School.

The mailman was robbed in the 6900 block of Harrison Lane, police said. Groveton Elementary is located at 6900 Harrison Lane. Police were called Tuesday morning at 10:46 a.m.

The mailman was driving his route Tuesday morning when he was approached by two men, police said. The suspects displayed handguns and demanded property from the victim, according to police.

Property was taken and the suspects fled in a dark-colored four-door sedan, FCPD said. The victim did not require medical attention, according to police.

Police say the first suspect was described as black, 5 feet 10 inches tall, medium build, and wearing blue jeans. The second suspect was described as black and wearing black pants. Both suspects had their faces covered.
