Man Arrested In Hybla Valley After Escape From Police
The man escaped from police custody at a hospital. He had outstanding arrest warrants from Fairfax County, Alexandria and state police.

HYBLA VALLEY, VAāFairfax County Police caught a man who escaped from custody on New Year's Day. Jaquan Ross, 27, was wanted in multiple jurisdictions.
Officers initially responded to the 6100 block of Richmond Highway around 4 a.m. Monday to assist the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department. Ross was apprehended for outstanding arrest warrants from Fairfax County, Alexandria and Virginia State Police.
At the time, Ross complained of pain and was taken to the hospital. After being treated, he escaped from police custody and fled toward Route 1.

An initial search of the area with a helicopter and K9 units was unsuccessful. He was found and arrested at 3 a.m. Tuesday with the help of fugitive detectives, the Mount Vernon Neighborhood Patrol Unit, K9 Unit, and SWAT team.
Ross was located in an apartment in the 7900 block of Richmond Highway. He was still wearing a handcuff on his right wrist when police found him.

The outstanding arrest warrants include: two counts of assault on family member, fail to appear on felony, fail to appear on misdemeanor and violate condition of release in Fairfax County; felony aggravated assault on family member, assault on family member, destruction of property and prevent summoning of police in Alexandria; and felony fail to stop for law enforcement, driving while suspended, reckless driving and three counts of fail to abide by traffic light from Virginia State Police. He faces additional charges from Monday's incident, including possession of marijuana, obstruction of justice and providing false ID to law enforcement.
