Man Breaks Into Mount Vernon Home Overnight

A residents of a Mount Vernon home discovered a man breaking in during the early hours of the morning.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Residents of a Mount Vernon home had an unwelcome surprise overnight Thursday.

Around 4:15 a.m., police responded to a burglary in the 4200 block of Corcoran Street. A resident noticed the man had entered the home, but he fled when the resident approached him. Police did not say how the unknown suspect got into the house.

The suspect was described as black, around 5 foot 9, with a muscular build and wearing a black ski hat and black pants. He was last seen in a dark-colored four-door sedan driving toward Ashboro Drive.
