Man Shot In Mount Vernon Area, Suspects Sought

Police do not believe the shooting is tied to gang activity based on initial investigations.

MOUNT VERNON, VA — A man was shot late Monday in the Mount Vernon area, according to Fairfax County Police.

The shooting happened around 10:50 p.m. in the 8000 block of Janna Lee Avenue. Police say the victim got into an argument with two men before one shot him. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police do not believe the shooting is gang-related, but it does not appear to be a random incident. No arrests have been made. The suspects are described as black men in their 20s.
