Masked Gunman Robs Purse from Woman in Her Driveway: Police

Fairfax County Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place in a local resident’s driveway Wednesday morning.

Police say a suspect with a handgun demanded a woman’s purse in her driveway, located in the 3200 block of Audubon Avenue in the Hybla Valley area (see map below).

It was just before 6:30 a.m., according to police, when the 38-year-old female reports she left her residence and was approached by a man in her driveway. The suspect displayed a handgun and demanded that the victim hand over her purse. She did so and was not injured.

The suspect fled on foot. Police said the victim described the suspect as a black man, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a skinny build. He was wearing a black ski mask and jacket.
