McCutcheon/Mount Vernon Market To Celebrate Farmers Market Week
McCutcheon/Mount Vernon and other park authority-run farmers markets will participate in National Farmers Market Week from Aug. 7 to 13.

HYBLA VALLEY, VA — The McCutcheon/Mount Vernon Farmers Market will be part of National Farmers Market Week, which runs from Aug. 7 to 13.
Since the McCutcheon/Mount Vernon runs on Wednesdays, the National Farmers Market Week activities will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 10. Plans will include a cooking Demonstration by Virginia Cooperative Extension, bike safety with Fairfax Alliance for Better Bicycling, a quiz wheel and prizes, and other educational activities for families.
National Farmers Market Week celebrates the contributions of farmers markets in communities and support for local farmers. The Fairfax County Park Authority runs 10 seasonal farmers markets in Fairfax County. Vendors come from a 125-mile radius of Fairfax County and may only sell what they raise on farms or make from scratch.

The McCutcheon/Mount Vernon is located in the parking lot of the Sherwood Regional Library, 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, VA. It is held Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. from April 20 to Dec. 21.
Other National Farmers Market Week activities will take place at the Lorton Farmers Market on Aug. 7, Oak Marr and Wakefield Farmers Markets on Aug. 10, Annandale and Herndon Farmers Markets on Aug. 11, McLean and Kingstowne Farmers Markets on Aug. 12, and Burke and Reston Farmers Markets on Aug. 13.
