Medical Cannabis Dispensary Opens In Huntington

HUNTINGTON, VA — A new cannabis dispensary serving registered medical cannabis patients in Virginia opened Wednesday in Huntington.

Beyond/Hello, a medical cannabis dispensary, is open at 5902 Richmond Hwy, Alexandria, VA just outside Alexandria city limits. This is the first licensed cannabis dispensary in Fairfax County. Beyond/Hello also operates dispensaries in Manassas, Sterling and a future Fairfax City location. The company also plans to add an Arlington store by the end of the year.

Currently, the sale of recreational cannabis is prohibited in Virginia. However, adults 21 and older may possess up to one ounce of cannabis in public. Adults 21 and over may also use marijuana in private residences or grow up to four plants, but private residence owners have the right to restrict marijuana use.

Beyond/Hello is only authorized to sell medical cannabis to customers who are 21 or older and have a valid written certification from a Board of Pharmacy-registered practitioner. To purchase cannabis products at Beyond/Hello, customers must have a physician-provided certification, valid photo ID, and cash or debit card. As of July 1, customers no longer have to apply to the Board of Pharmacy for a medical cannabis card, which could take months to obtain.

Before shopping, new Beyond/Hello customers should complete a patient intake form, schedule a consultation and bring along the required items to the appointment.

The new Huntington location offers cannabis products in the form of edibles, extracts, flower, tinctures, pre-rolls, topicals and vapes, as well as gear. The new store is initially only accepting cash and has an ATM on site.
