Mount Vernon District Police Hold Sidewalk Chalk Contest For Kids

Kids chosen as the three chalk drawing winners will get a special neighborhood visit from officers.

MOUNT VERNON, VA — Fairfax County Police in the Mount Vernon District are keeping kids engaged during social distancing with a sidewalk chalk challenge. Three winners will be chosen and receive visit from police officers in their neighborhood.

Kids 12 and under can participate in the virtual contest. The rules are simple: think of a creative idea to draw with sidewalk chalk, follow social distancing guidelines when drawing the picture, and send a photo of the chalk drawing by email. Participants are asked to limit drawings to their own properties.

Submissions are accepted until May 8, and three winners will be chosen on May 15. All participants will receive an e-certificate and the change to tour the police station at a later time.
