Mount Vernon Man Wanted For Homicide: Police
Fairfax County Police have identified a suspect wanted in a Sunday fatal shooting in the Woodlawn area.

MOUNT VERNON, VA — A Mount Vernon man is wanted in a homicide Sunday in the Woodlawn area, according to Fairfax County Police.
Police had been called to the 5800 block of St Gregorys Lane off Jeff Todd Way around 7 a.m. Sunday. Around that time, the victim was dropped off at Inova Mount Vernon Hospital with upper body gunshot wounds. He was later taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital and died of his injuries.
The victim was identified as Brandon Wims, 31, of Maryland. The medical examiner will perform an autopsy to confirm the cause and manner of death.

Detectives identified Kyjuan Omar Braxton Trott, 43, as the suspect. Detectives learned Trott saw Wims in a vehicle with two others, exited a vehicle and shot Wims multiple times. The driver of the vehicle with Wims inside took him to the hospital. Other occupants were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Warrants were obtained to charge Trott with second degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, felon in possession of a firearm and felon in possession of ammunition. Anyone with information about Trott's location can call the Major Crimes Bureau at 703-246-7800. If anyone actively sees Trott, they can call 911. Trips may also be submitted through Crime Solvers. According to police, Trott was driving a silver Nissan Sentra with Maryland registration 2ET4005 when he shot Wims.

Detectives are continuing to investigate what the relationship between Trott and Wims was.
