Mount Vernon Task Force To Discuss Land Use Proposals
A task force schedule has been announced to discuss the Belle View Shopping Center proposal and other land use proposals.

BELLE HAVEN, VA — A Mount Vernon District task force has been formed to begin the screening phase of land use nominations as part of the South County Site-Specific Plan Amendment process. Meetings will take place in March and April.
The task force will make recommendations on whether the land use proposals should be on the consideration list for comprehensive plan amendments. The Planning Commission would hold a public hearing in June on the task forces' recommendations and decide which nominations will be added to the Comprehensive Plan Amendment Work Program. The Board of Supervisors would consider the revised Comprehensive Plan Amendment Work Program in July.
If added to the work program, the land use proposals could go to the Planning Commission for hearings as early as May 2021 and Board of Supervisors in June 2021.
