Mount Vernon Woods Park Redevelopment To Be Discussed
New park amenities are part of a proposal for Mount Vernon Woods Park and will be discussed at a September meeting.

HYBLA VALLEY, VA — A proposal for redevelopment of Mount Vernon Woods Park will be discussed at an upcoming Fairfax County Park Authority meeting.
The Fairfax County Park Authority is planning to add new amenities to the park at 4014 Fielding Street, Alexandria, VA. The project is in the design phase with consultant Kimley-Horn helping create a concept plan for the park.
The current park has open area and wooded portions with a picnic pavilion, children's play area, trails and benches. New amenities would include a playground, picnic shelter, fitness area, multisport court, parking, large playing field and skate park.

The park authority will hold a meeting on Thursday, Sept. 8 at 6 p.m. at Mount Vernon Woods Elementary, 4015 Fielding Street, Alexandria, VA to present the redevelopment proposal. Residents may sign up at the meeting to make comments. After the meeting, residents can make comments through Oct. 10 to Parkmail@Fairfaxcounty.gov.
