BELLE HAVEN, VA — An Alexandria woman is $1 million richer after scoring a top prize in the Virginia New Year’s Millionaire Raffle.
Carol Ketrick bought one of the four top prize winning tickets in the special new year's game. Tickets for this lottery game were limited; 500,000 tickets were sold across Virginia from Nov. 2 to Dec. 21.
It was a snowy Monday when Ketrick found out she won. She was feeling down that day, but her winning ticket changed that, according to the Virginia Lottery.
