Northern Virginia Career Fair Planned For Military And Their Spouses
Veterans, service members and military spouses are invited to a two-day career fair with over 40 regional employers.
FORT BELVOIR, VA — Veterans, military service members and military spouses seeking new careers can attend a Northern Virginia career fair in September at Fort Belvoir.
The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority will host the two-day career fair on Sept. 21 and 22. Over 40 employers will be available for networking and interviews, from larger employers like Adobe, Amazon, CACI and the FBI to small businesses. Applicants from all backgrounds and experience levels are welcome to attend and do not need to live in Northern Virginia to interview with employers.
The participating employers collectively are seeking to fill over 10,000 positions. Job opportunities are available in various sectors, including government, information technology, finance, renewable energy and health care.

Fairfax County and Northern Virginia have a notable military family presence due to the presence of military bases like Fort Belvoir as well as the Pentagon. The most populous county in Virginia — Fairfax County — has an estimated 80,000 veterans and their families, as well as 1,968 veteran-owned firms, according to the economic development authority.
"We are grateful to our veterans and their families, and proudly support them with connections to career opportunities at mission-driven companies here in Fairfax County and Northern Virginia," said Victor Hoskins, president and CEO of the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority. "For the past two years, we have hosted several successful career fairs to serve our military community, and because of that, numerous active and retired military have found the opportunity to thrive professionally and personally in the nation’s career capital, Northern Virginia."

The two-day career fair includes one day in person and one day virtual. The in-person event will be held Wednesday, Sept. 21 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the National Museum of the United States Army, 1775 Liberty Drive Fort Belvoir, VA, which is a publicly-accessible area of Fort Belvoir. The virtual event is Thursday, Sept. 22 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., held through online meeting portal Premier Virtual.
