Outdated Tuna Salad, More Restaurant Violations Near Alexandria
Health inspectors found cross contamination of food, outdated foods and more at Alexandria area restaurants.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- Fairfax County regularly conducts health inspections for local restaurants. The frequency of inspections on the type of food served and how it is prepared. “In our experience, it is unrealistic to expect that a complex, full-service food operation can routinely avoid any violations,” states the Virginia Department of Health’s website.
Here are some of the violations from recent inspections from April and early May. A “critical violation” is one that “poses a direct or immediate threat to the safety of the food being served.” Among the violations were employees not washing hands, food stored at improper temperatures and outdated food not yet thrown away.
Reports are typically posted five to seven days after the inspections. Full reports are available on the health department’s website. Click on the violations to see each restaurant's results.
