Pedestrian Dies After Crash In Belle Haven: Police

A man died after a vehicle struck him on Richmond Highway, according to Fairfax County Police.

BELLE HAVEN, VA — A pedestrian died after a Wednesday crash on Richmond Highway in the Belle Haven area, according to Fairfax County Police.

The crash happened in the 5900 block of Richmond Highway around 10 p.m., according to police. An investigation determined the pedestrian was crossing the road when a northbound vehicle struck him. The driver remained on scene to cooperate with detectives, and preliminary investigations found speed or alcohol were not factors for the driver.

The pedestrian, James Spack, 78, of Alexandria, was taken to the hospital, where he died of his injuries.
