Pizza Delivery Driver Pepper Sprayed By Robber
The pizza delivery never made it to the Mount Vernon residence after being ambushed by a robber with pepper spray.

MOUNT VERNON, VA—A pizza delivery driver had his order stolen in a most unpleasant way in Mount Vernon over the holiday weekend.
Around 9:40 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 22, the driver was dropping off an order around the 8600 block of Beekman Place. An unknown suspect approached and sprayed the diver with pepper spray, Fairfax County Police say.
The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries as the unknown man fled with the pizza. No suspect description is available.

Other notable incidents that happened in the Mount Vernon Police District over the long holiday weekend were:
Distribution of Marijuana/Obstruction of Justice: Boswell Avenue/Richmond Highway, 12/22/17 around 3:30 p.m. An officer observed a car with defective equipment. A traffic stop was conducted and the officer was able to smell the odor of marijuana coming from inside the car. Both the driver and passenger were asked to get out of the car but they refused. Eventually, they got out of the car and officers found narcotics inside. Stephen Mack, 33, of the District of Columbia, and Ashley Pollock, 30, of Maryland, were both arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and obstruction of justice.

Robbery: 5946 Richmond Highway (Best Smokes), 12/24/17 around 3:00 p.m. Two men entered the store and demanded money. The suspects were described as two black men wearing dark clothing. The suspects were able to get an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the store. The victim was not injured and the case is ongoing.
