Police Cruiser Struck In Richmond Highway Pursuit

Police arrived on scene when a driver was trying to block other cars from leaving a parking lot.

A woman is facing charges after a striking a police car in a pursuit in the Belle Haven-Groveton area of Richmond Highway Sunday.

Officers responded to the 6300 block of Richmond Highway around 12:35 a.m. Police received a report of a car driving around a parking lot trying to prevent other cars from leaving.

When officers tried to talk to the driver, she fled and struck the police cruiser in the process. A pursuit began, leading to police pulling her over using the precision immobilization technique (PIT) technique. No injuries were reported.

The driver, Kendra Lafley, 46, of New York, was arrested and charged with hit and run, assault on a police officer, speed to elude and reckless driving.
