Police: Pedestrian Killed in Beacon Hill area
Police say the man, an Alexandria resident, was sitting in the center of Route 1 northbound just prior to Southgate Drive.
Crash reconstruction detectives are investigating a crash that took place at around 11:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 13, according to Fairfax County Police.
A 40-year-old Alexandria area man was reportedly sitting in the center of Route 1 Northbound just prior to Southgate Drive outside of the crosswalk, police said.
The man was stuck by two vehicles, police noted. It does not appear that speed nor alcohol were factors in the crash on the part of the drivers and it is unknown why the victim was in the roadway, according to FCPD.

Police identified that man as John Henderson. No charges have been placed against the drivers at this time. The investigation is continuing.
