Resident Answers Knock, Finds Masked Gunman at Door

Incident took place late afternoon on Saturday, police said.

Fairfax County Police report that an armed robbery took place at a local residence over the weekend.

The robbery occurred in the 6600 block of Wakefield Drive (see map) Saturday, when police were called at around 5:06 p.m., police said.

The victim was in his residence and opened the front door after hearing a knock, according to police.

A man at the door then forced his way into the residence, displayed a handgun at the victim and demanded money, police said. The suspect took property and cash and fled, according to police.

The victim did not require medical attention, FCPD noted.

The suspect was described as white, about 6 feet 2 inches tall, 210 pounds and wearing a mask over his face, according to police.
