Resident Awakens at 2 AM to Sounds of Footsteps in Home: Police

Police say burglary took place Thursday morning on Golf Course Square. Another burglary took place Wednesday morning in Mount Vernon area.

The following incidents were reported Thursday afternoon by Fairfax County Police:

  • BURGLARY: 5500 block of Old Mill Road, 07/15/15 at about 6:11 a.m. A resident reported someone entered the residence and took property. The suspects were described as black males with one having dreadlocks.
  • BURGLARY OF AN OCCUPIED DWELLING: 6300 Golf Course Square,07/16/15 at about 2:00 a.m. The victim awoke to the sound of footsteps in his home. As he exited his bedroom, he saw an unknown male running out the front door. Nothing was taken.
  • LARCENIES: 7900 block of Audubon Avenue, property from residence.
  • STOLEN VEHICLES: 2200 block of Farrington Avenue, 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
