4 Residents Displaced After Hybla Valley Mobile Home
Fairfax County Fire and Rescue said there was significant interior damage and damage to a neighboring home.

HYBLA VALLEY, VA — Four people were displaced after a mobile home fire in Hybla Valley Wednesday morning, according to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue.
The fire was reported around 8:22 a.m. in the 7700 block of Blue Jay Court. Responding Fairfax County and Alexandria units found fire showing upon arrival. A neighboring mobile home’s siding was melting and emitting smoke. Crews quickly put out the fire in the main home and applied water to the neighboring home to prevent further damage. There were no reported injuries.
Two residents had been home at the time of the fire. A neighbor discovered the fire and notified the residents. Both safely escaped before the fire department arrival.

Investigators say the fire started in the detached storage shed and extended into the mobile house, causing significant interior damage. The cause of the fire was an electrical malfunction involving the wiring circuit to an exterior light on the storage shed. A second mobile home had thermal damage to the vinyl siding. Damages were estimated to be $45,000.
Four residents displaced because of the fire and accepted Red Cross assistance.
