SPRINGFIELD, VA — Springfield Town Center was evacuated Tuesday after a reported bomb threat, according to Fairfax County police. The threat was later deemed unfounded, police said.
Officers responded to the shopping mall after a person using an unknown phone number reported a bomb threat, police said in a statement shared on social media.
Police said the evacuation was ordered out of an abundance of caution while the department's Explosive Ordnance Disposal team searched the property.
