Stolen Gun Recovered In Mount Vernon Traffic Stop
Police found drugs and the stolen gun after pulling over a man in Mount Vernon.

MOUNT VERNON, VA—A routine traffic stop in Mount Vernon turned into a case of a stolen gun Wednesday.
Around 4:45 p.m., police pulled over the car in the 8500 block of Richmond Highway. After cops smelled marijuana from the car, the suspect exited the car and began to struggle with the officers. Police searched the car and recovered a stolen pistol and marijuana.
When police did an identification check, they found he had been convicted of a felony. Under federal and state law, those convicted of a felony lose firearm rights.

Now the suspect faces more charges. Odell Lewis, 45, of Woodbridge was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, possession of a concealed weapon, possession of marijuana, obstruction of justice, and possession of stolen property.
