Surovell Senate Campaign Ahead in Donations: VPAP
Democrat Scott Surovell is outraising his opponent, Republican Jerry Foreman, in race for District 36 Senate seat.

Democrat Scott Surovell is out-raising his Republican opponent, Jerry Foreman, in the Senate District 36 race, according to campaign contribution records on the Virginia Public Access Project Web site.
The election is Nov. 3 for the seat. State Sen. Toddy Puller announced her retirement from the Senate and is backing Surovell in the race.
Surovell has raised $160,586, versus $65,714 raised by Foreman.

Here’s a breakdown of the campaign donations:
Surovell
- 227 donors have given less than $100 each, totaling $14,026
- 128 donors have given more than $100 each, totaling $146,296
- Surovell has received $264 in in-kind contributions from 1 (catering from Hunton & Williams)
- Surovell for Delegate donated $56,546
Foreman
- 76 donors have given less than $100 each, totaling $4,935
- 82 donors have given more than $100 each, totaling $24,737
- Foreman has received $15,942 in in-kind contributions from 14 (includes office space, office supplies, catering for grand opening, etc.)
- Foreman has loaned $20,000 to his campaign
Foreman is the mayor of the Town of Dumfries. Surovell has represented the 44th District in the House of Delegates since 2009.
