Surveillance Video May Be Related To July Hybla Valley Homicide

Detectives believe the people in the surveillance video may have information or may be involved in the July homicide.

HYBLA VALLEY, VA — Fairfax County Police have released surveillance footage that may be related to a July homicide in Hybla Valley.

Tafari "Trey" Nadhim, 30, of Maryland, was found dead by a resident in the 7800 block of Janna Lee Avenue on July 8. The medical examiner determined the death to be a homicide. Police are investigating the case as a fatal shooting.

Investigations revealed Nadhim was attending a block party on July 4 in the nearby neighborhood. He was involved in a dispute sometime that evening and was shot between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. on July 5.

The surveillance video shows a group walking behind a row of apartments about 100 to 200 yards from where Nadhim was found dead. The group includes one man showing a gun followed by two men and a woman. Further investigation through social media accounts found the woman from the group was attending the Fourth of July block party Nadhim was at.

Police believe the individuals in the video may have information or may be involved in the fatal shooting. Police are seeking help to identify the individuals so detectives can speak to them.
