Teenager Reports Sexual Assault Near Route 1: Police
Incident allegedly occurred in a wooded area near Dart Drive, say Fairfax County police.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- Fairfax County police detectives are investigating a sexual assault that allegedly occurred in April near Richmond Highway (Route 1) in the Alexandria area.
The victim, a 14-year-old girl, delayed reporting the incident until June 10, the police said. She told police that it occurred at around 5:30 p.m. on April 13 in a wooded area close to Dart Drive, near the 7200 block of Richmond Highway.
The teenager told police she was walking along a path when a man grabbed her from behind and sexually assaulted her. The suspect is described as black, 30 to 35 years old, 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing about 180 pounds, with medium-length, dreadlock-style hair.

The suspect was wearing a black shirt, black jeans and black shoes, the police said.
