Two Armed Robberies Happen Within Minutes In Groveton Area

Police are seeking armed robbers in two incidents that happened five minutes apart in Groveton.

GROVETON, VA—Police are seeking suspects in two armed robberies that happened within minutes of each other in the Groveton area Wednesday. It is unclear if the incidents are related.

Around 9:45 p.m., two people were standing in a parking lot in the area of Lockheed Boulevard when approached by two men. One took out a gun and pointed it against one victim's head, demanding his wallet and watch. The other unknown suspect demanded the other victim hand over his wallet too. The second victim handed over a jacket, and the unknown suspects fled.

The first suspect is described as a black male, around 5 foot 11, 180 pounds and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with gray sleeves and shorts. The second suspect is described as a black male, around 5 foot 6, 150 pounds and wearing a hat, black t-shirt, long gold chain and jeans.

The next incident happened nearby at Robert E. Lee Place and Groveton Gardens Road around 9:55 p.m. Two people were walking home when two men appeared. The first suspect pointed a gun at one victim, demanding money. The other victim ran away. The victim threatened by the gun didn't have any money, and the first suspect proceeded to hit the victim. Both unknown suspects left without taking anything. The first victim suffered minor injuries.

The first suspect is described as a black male, 5 foot 5, with a medium build, wearing a gray t-shirt and around 25 to 30 years old. The second suspect is described as a black male, with a medium build, wearing a red baseball cap, black hoodie, black pants and around 25 to 30 years old.

Police continue to investigate both incidents.
