Two Armed Robberies Strike Greater Alexandria

Two armed robberies happened not far from each other over the weekend in Greater Alexandria.

GREATER ALEXANDRIA, VA—Two armed robberies occurred in the same area over the weekend in the Hybla Valley and Groveton areas over the weekend.

The first incident happened Friday around 11:20 p.m in the 7500 block of Snowpea Court. The victim was standing outside a building when two men came over and pointed a gun at him. The unknown suspects demanded money and assaulted the victim. Police say the victim did not go to the hospital. The suspects described as black males.

The second incident followed on Saturday around 11:20 p.m. in the 7200 block of Jon Paul Drive. The victim was walking home from a friend's house when approached by a man. The unknown suspect pointed a gun at the victim and demanded he turn over his wallet and cell phone.

Police say the unknown suspect was last seen going toward Route 1 and Lockheed Boulevard. The suspect is described as a 20 to 25 year old black male, 5 foot 11, thin, clean shaven and wearing a baseball cap, black shirt and blue jean shorts.
