Two Shootings In Mount Vernon Area Under Investigation
Fairfax County Police say the shootings happened on April 5 and 6.
MOUNT VERNON, VA — Fairfax County Police are looking into shootings with injuries in the Mount Vernon area on Monday and Tuesday.
The first incident happened around 12:30 a.m. in the 3600 block of Buckman Road. Police believe a man was arguing with several people when he was shot in the upper body. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Detectives believe the involved parties know each other.
The other shooting happened around 9:33 p.m. in the 7900 block of Janna Lee Avenue. Police say a man was walking home and heard gunshots. The man was struck in the upper body by a bullet. He went to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Officers also located a vehicle struck by gunfire with cartridge casings on the ground.
