Vehicle Stolen In MD Carjacking Spotted, Stopped On Richmond Highway
Fairfax County Police used the precision immobilization technique to stop a car allegedly stolen from Prince George's County.

HUNTINGTON, VA — A stolen vehicle from Prince George's County was stopped in Fairfax County's Richmond Highway corridor Thursday, according to the police department.
Around 4:50 p.m., police spotted a 2017 Nissan Rogue on Richmond Highway near Fort Hunt Road that had been in a carjacking in Prince George's County. Police attempted to pull the vehicle over, leading to a pursuit. Police used the precision immobilization technique, which causes a fleeing vehicle to quickly turn 180 degrees, stall and stop.
The four occupants in the vehicle were arrested and face charges. The four were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, and one officer had minor injuries. Narcotics and two guns were recovered from the vehicle.

Police did not identify the suspects in the weekly crime report. The driver, a 20-year-old man from Maryland, was charged with grand larceny-auto theft, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, disregarding police command to stop, and driving without a valid license. An 18-year-old man from Maryland was charged with grand larceny-auto theft and possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Two 19-year-old men from Maryland were charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and receiving stolen goods.

Robbery: 7900 block of Audubon Avenue, Hybla Valley, 8/26/22, 12:53 a.m. The victim arranged a meeting to sell property through an online marketplace application. Two men approached the victim. One man displayed a handgun and took the property. No injuries were reported.
Commercial Robbery: 8500 Richmond Highway (Shell Gas Station), Woodlawn, 8/28/22, 12:20 a.m. Two juvenile males entered the business, displayed a handgun and took merchandise. The victim was treated for minor injuries.
Commercial Robbery: 5638 Mount Vernon Memorial Highway (7-Eleven), Mount Vernon, 8/31/22, 6:05 a.m. A man attempted to take merchandise without paying. When confronted by a store employee, the man assaulted him and left in a vehicle. No merchandise was taken. No injuries were reported.
