Fairfax County School Age Child Care sponsored the dance performance

Parents from all over Fairfax County flocked the West Potomac High School auditorium for the Invention of Dance performance on Saturday. The Fairfax County School Age Child Care (SACC) event featured elementary students from all over the county dancing through the decades to generational hits with period dance moves.

"We really appreciate everyone coming out today to support the children ," master of ceremonies Chris Holmes said. "They all put in a lot of hard work. Thank you all for attending."

The dances ranged from the roaring 1920s and rocking 1950s to 1980s pop and modern hip-hop. The most popular decades were the 80s and 90s, but the packed audience cheered and clapped for every performance.

Every dance featured homemade costumes, created by the dancers and parents. The colorful and fun costumes helped the young students get into character.

Bucknell Elementary presented a dance to Johnny Otis' The Hand Jive. The 17 boys and girls rocked out in poodle skirts and white t-shirts with every ounce of energy they had.
