Herndon Farmers Market To Celebrate Farmers Market Week
Herndon Farmers Market and other park authority-run farmers markets will participate in National Farmers Market Week from Aug. 7 to 13.

HERNDON, VA — Herndon Farmers Market will be part of National Farmers Market Week, which runs from Aug. 7 to 13.
Since the Herndon Farmers Market runs on Thursdays, the National Farmers Market Week activities will be held on Thursday, Aug. 11. Plans will include a cooking Demonstration by Virginia Cooperative Extension, bike safety with Fairfax Alliance for Better Bicycling, a quiz wheel and prizes, and other educational activities for families.
National Farmers Market Week celebrates the contributions of farmers markets in communities and support for local farmers. The Fairfax County Park Authority runs 10 seasonal farmers markets in Fairfax County. Vendors come from a 125-mile radius of Fairfax County and may only sell what they raise on farms or make from scratch.

The Herndon Farmers Market is located in the 700 block of Lynn St. in Old Town Herndon. It is held Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., through Nov. 3.
Other National Farmers Market Week activities will take place at the Lorton Farmers Market on Aug. 7, Oak Marr, McCutcheon/Mount Vernon and Wakefield Farmers Markets on Aug. 10, Annandale Farmers Market on Aug. 11, McLean and Kingstowne Farmers Markets on Aug. 12, and the Reston and Burke Farmers Markets on Aug. 13.
