Be a farmhand for a day. Spring Farm Day is Saturday, May 9, at Frying Pan Farm Park in Herndon.

Try your hand at cow or goat milking, and watch sheep shearing and antique farm equipment demonstrations. Enjoy crafts, games, puppet shows, fair food and special guest exhibitors. Get your passport map stamped as you journey through new interactive exhibits, including electricity in the farmhouse, gardening, dairy production and history. And, of course, you’ll get close to the calves, lambs, chicks and other babies born on the farm this spring.

Spring Farm Day runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $8 at the door, but you can save a dollar by purchasing tickets in advance. Register here.

Kids under 2 are free. Wagon and carousel rides are available for an additional fee.

Although dogs on a leash are allowed in Fairfax County parks, no dogs will be allowed inside the event area during Spring Farm Day. This park fundraising event is sponsored by the Friends of Frying Pan Farm Park in cooperation with the Fairfax County Park Authority.
