Media Report: Police Investigating Light Aimed at Helicopter
Bright beam could have disabled aircraft, say Fairfax County police.
Fairfax County police are looking for the person who shined a bright light into a department helicopter last week as it was returning to its base in the Herndon area.
The incident occurred at about 8 p.m. on Feb. 24. The department said the beam lit up the helicopter’s cockpit, interfering with the pilot’s vision and creating a dangerous situation, according to radio station WVVA.
