The investigation is continuing, and additional charges may be placed in the case as detectives proceed, the Fairfax County police said. The incident occurred at about 2:50 p.m.; it was not a home invasion robbery, as initially reported, they said.
The initial reports indicated that the five men entered an apartment, engaged in some sort of disagreement and one was shot, another was wounded, and the others fled the scene, police said in a news release sent out at 8:51 p.m. Sunday.
Police said there were at least two men at home in the apartment; neither was injured. Subsequent investigation revealed that the men were known to each other and that the incident was not characterized as “random.”
Weapons believed to be involved in the crime were recovered at the scene, according to police.
