Total VA Coronavirus Cases Rise For 4th Day In A Row
Virginia Department of Health confirmed Saturday was the fourth straight day of daily coronavirus increases in the state.
VIRGINIA — Virginia's daily coronavirus cases rose for the fourth straight day on Saturday, up almost 200 cases from recent days, according to the Virginia Department of Health. Officials also reported 5 new deaths from COVID-19 deaths after reporting its lowest increase in deaths since April on Thursday.
The VDH reported 650 additional cases of the coronavirus, up from the 555 new cases reported on Friday. Earlier in the week, the VDH reported 463 new coronavirus cases on Thursday and 444 new cases on Wednesday.
Of the new cases reported Friday in Virginia, 223, or 34.3 percent, came from the Northern Virginia region.

Earlier this week, the Virginia Health Department started to include more detailed race and ethnicity data for reported coronavirus cases. Before Monday, race was identified as white, black or African American, or other. Ethnicity data was identified as Hispanic or Latino or Not Hispanic or Latino.
The latest cumulative totals for all of Virginia are 57,443 positive cases, 5,807 hospitalizations and 1,607 deaths.

As of Saturday, 528,914 tests (excluding antibody tests) have been completed in Virginia. The seven-day average for percent of positive test results was at 7.0 percent, down from 7.1 percent as of Friday. The percent is also down from a peak of 22.2 percent on April 19.
According to the Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association, as of Saturday, 880 people were hospitalized for COVID-19, up from the 862 people who were reported hospitalized on Friday. So far, 7,607 patients with the virus have been discharged after being hospitalized, up from 7,563 Friday.
As of Saturday, there were 133 pending or confirmed COVID-19 patients on ventilators, down from 121 on Friday. Among all Virginia hospital patients, 611 of 3,025 available ventilators are being used, representing 20 percent use. No hospitals are reporting difficulty obtaining or restocking personal protective gear or other medical supplies within the next 72 hours.

- Alexandria: 2,217 cases, 231 hospitalizations, 49 deaths; increase of 19 cases and one hospitalization.
- Arlington County: 2,405 cases, 411 hospitalizations, 126 deaths; increase of two hospitalizations.
- Fairfax County: 13,341 cases, 1,548 hospitalizations, 435 deaths; increase of 97 cases, 1 hospitalization and three deaths.
- Fairfax City: 68 cases, seven hospitalizations, six deaths; increase of one case.
- Falls Church: 59 cases, 11 hospitalizations, seven deaths; increase of one case.
- Loudoun County: 3,543 cases, 232 hospitalizations, 82 deaths; increase of 39 cases.
- Manassas: 1,353 cases, 89 hospitalizations, 16 deaths; increase of 1 case.
- Manassas Park: 407 cases, 60 hospitalizations, five deaths; increase of five cases.
- Prince William County: 6,807 cases, 628 hospitalizations, 131 deaths; increase of 51 cases, one fewer hospitalizations.
- Fredericksburg: 223 cases, 25 hospitalizations, no deaths; increase of four cases.
- Spotsylvania County: 891 cases, 60 hospitalizations, 20 deaths; increase of 17 cases, two hospitalizations and one death.
- Stafford County: 920 cases, 92 hospitalizations, five deaths; one fewer case, one fewer hospitalizations.
