Sterling Electronics Manufacturer Announces Move to Leesburg
EIT plans to build 70,000-square-foot building at Oaklawn development.

EIT LLC, an electronics manufacturing and engineering company, anounced Friday that it will relocate its Northern Virginia operations from Sterling to Leesburg.
The company said it will build a 70,000-square-foot manufacturing and operations facility at the Oaklawn in Leesburg development. the new building is expected to be ready for occupancy by September 2016.
EIT is currently headquartered at a 60,000-square-foot facility near Sterling Boulevard and Route 28. It also has another facility in Sterling, as well as electronic manufacturing facilities in Salem, N.H., and Danville, Va.

“I am thrilled about EIT’s decision to make Leesburg their home,” said Kristen Umstattd, Leesburg’s mayor, in a statement. “Our economic development staff has been paving the way for this move, and I foresee a very bright future for both EIT and the town.”
“We’ve looked at Leesburg as a potential home for quite some time,” said Joe T. May, EIT’s founder and chief technology officer, in the statement. “Leesburg has welcomed us and we are very pleased to finally be in position to move our operations.” May is a former 20-year member of the Virginia House of Delegates.

Founded in 1977, EIT provides contract electronic manufacturing services, for customers in a variety of industries, including medical, communications, security and aerospace. It also provides engineering and support services.
Marantha Edwards, Leesburg’s economic development director, said that EIT’s move “translates into job creation” for the town. “Their expertise in design through fulfillment is key for their business success and the growth of this industry in Leesburg.”
EIT President David Faliskie said that easy access to Leesburg Executive Airport and local transportation infrastructure made the new site attractive. “We are very excited to be able to merge our operations [in Northern Virginia] and headquarters into this new Leesburg facility.”
