In their latest housing report, the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) made a bold, yet encouraging, prediction. The experts at NAHB believe the economy and housing market are likely to continue their upward trajectory through this year and next. According to the report, “a growing economy, pent-up demand, competitive mortgage rates, and affordable home prices” are all contributing factors to the positive outlook. Also aiding in recovery is the ever-growing consumer confidence. Confidence levels are back to pre-recession levels, indicating that people all over the country feel better about spending and buying in general. With the amount of confidence back in the market, both first-time and veteran home shoppers have no qualms about jumping into the housing market – which is great to hear! Their confidence spurs others to take action, continuing the housing market recovery.
As far as actual predicted figures go, the production of single-family homes is estimated to increase 22% from last year to this year, and skyrocket an additional 55% in 2015. At these rates, the housing market is set to be considered 93% ‘back to normal’ by the end of 2015. Impressive projections like these are certainly encouraging for families everywhere, and for many, is enough to bring them back to the market to buy new homes for sale.
