IDI Completes Construction on Final Condominium at Lansdowne Woods of Virginia

Arlington-based IDI has completed construction on the award-winning community it began in 1995 with the completion of The Overlook.

Lansdowne, Va. - Arlington-based IDI has completed construction on the award-winning community it began in 1995 with the completion of The Overlook, its final enclave of seven luxury condominium homes at Lansdowne Woods of Virginia, formerly known as Leisure World of Virginia. The rustic contemporary structure that formerly housed the active adult community’s sales and exhibit center has been converted into seven unique condominium homes with sweeping golf course and water views. Five homes were presold; the two homes currently available include the three-bedroom, three-bath home with its private terrace, private elevator, fireplace, gallery and covered parking. Also available is a one-bedroom, 1.5-bath home that can be purchased furnished or unfurnished. Both homes have sweeping waterfront views that extend beyond the Lansdowne Resort golf course toward Sugarloaf Mountain.

“The Overlook has turned out to be such a special place, and it marks a very satisfying end to more than 20 years of creating this community,” said IDI Vice President/Project Manager Patrick J. Rhodes, Jr. “While it’s a great ending for us, it’s also a wonderful fresh start for the people who purchase here,” he added.

Under the leadership of company President Giuseppe Cecchi, Rosslyn, Va.-based IDI, which just marked 40 years, earned numerous livability, amenities and management awards for Lansdowne Woods during its more than two decades developing it. The age-restricted community, now home to approximately 1500 residents, features expansive community amenities, including a 50,000-square-foot clubhouse with an indoor/outdoor swimming pool, fitness center, auditorium, activity and craft rooms, bank, fine-dining restaurant, ballroom-auditorium, interfaith chapel and convenience shopping. Additional amenities include rooftop tennis courts and community gardens.
