On Wednesday, Nov. 28, the Inova OB/GYN Clinic at Loudoun Hospital celebrated 10 years of providing prenatal care and delivery services to low-income and uninsured women in Loudoun County.
In 2008 there was a need in the county to improve birth outcomes, decrease NICU stays and ensure all women in our community had the opportunity to deliver healthy babies through access to excellent prenatal care. Through a partnership with Inova Loudoun Hospital, Loudoun County Health Department and HealthWorks of Northern Virginia that need was met and has continued for 10 years.
“One of our goals is healthy women having healthy babies. In 2008, we had a long discussion on how do we make this better and Inova stepped up to the plate. We’ve had an agreement for the past 10 years and it’s been wonderful seeing this relationship evolve over the last 10 years,” said Dr. David Goodfriend, director, Loudoun County Health Department.”

OB/GYN Hospitalists of Loudoun provide expectant mothers comprehensive outpatient obstetrical services, prenatal care, diabetes management, case management, non-stress testing and nutritional counseling to all qualified patients.
OB/GYN Hospitalists of Loudoun have delivered approximately 6,000 babies at The Birthing Inn since the program started in 2008.
