Leesburg-Area Children Become “Toy Testers” in

Preschooler-Approved Toy Test

Leesburg, Virginia – October 5, 2015 – What are the hot toys in the neighborhood? To help families with their holiday shopping, preschoolers at The Goddard School located at Leesburg conducted a Toy Test.

The children, ranging in age from infants to six years old, tested out some of this year’s top toys as part of The Goddard School’s eighth annual Preschooler-Approved Toy Test to determine this year’s top toys. Past Preschooler-Approved Toy Test winners include brands such as K’NEX, Lakeshore Learning, Fat Brain Toys, Tiny Love, HABA and Learning Resources.

“Toy Test is such a great event because it meshes perfectly with our play-based learning philosophy,” says Akhil Govil, on-site owner of The Goddard School located in Leesburg. “The children have a blast, and we’re able to see which toys resonate with them, which helps us to better understand their educational wants and needs.”

Akhil Govil adds that Toy Test also helps develop 21st century skills. “In the process of evaluating toys, the children continue to develop problem-solving skills, the ability to collaborate with others, self-confidence, creativity and other valuable tools that will help them be successful in school and in life,” he says.
