LoCo Fest Returns to 868 Estate Vineyards Sunday, Sept 6 with Live Music, Food, Wine

On Sunday, September 6, 868 Estate Vineyards will host the 9th Annual LoCo Fest, a day-long celebration of live local music, regional craft beverages, and grassroots community philanthropy.

Running from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., the festival transforms the picturesque winery grounds into a sprawling open-air concert venue featuring a continuous lineup of local talent across multiple stages. From seasoned acoustic acts and high-energy rock bands to emerging youth performers, LoCo Fest has established itself as the premier showcase for Loudoun County’s vibrant musical ecosystem.

A Festival Born from the Local Scene

LoCo Fest was founded in 2018 as a grassroots effort to elevate local artists and create a collaborative platform for musicians who perform throughout Northern Virginia’s wine and craft beverage country. Over the past nine years, the event has grown into a major regional draw while maintaining its intimate, community-focused spirit.

The day's performance schedule is structured to offer something for every musical preference, spanning folk, classic rock, country, and pop. A cornerstone of the festival is the afternoon "Rising Stars" showcase, which gives young, up-and-coming student musicians the opportunity to share the stage and perform on professional sound equipment alongside veteran artists.

"When we started LoCo Fest, the goal was simple: bring local musicians together, put them on a great stage, and give our community a chance to hear the incredible talent hiding right here in our backyard," said Todd Brooks, festival co-founder and lead musician of Todd Brooks & Pour Decisions. "Seeing how this festival has grown—and watching young performers start out in our Rising Stars segment and come back years later as main-stage acts—is proof of how special the Loudoun music scene really is."

Music with a Mission

While the music, food trucks, and estate-grown wines draw hundreds of visitors each year, the heart of LoCo Fest lies in its charitable mission. The event serves as the primary annual fundraiser for LoCo Music Inc., a local non-profit organization dedicated to expanding access to music education and supporting regional artists.

Proceeds raised through ticket sales and sponsorships go directly toward purchasing musical instruments for public school music programs, community groups, and local musicians in Loudoun County. To date, LoCo Fest has generated over $100,000 in direct equipment donations and grants to area schools and community organizations.

Food, Wine, and Festival Logistics

In addition to nine hours of live performances, attendees can enjoy a wide array of local food and drink including wine from 868 Estate Vineyards, local craft beer from Lost Rhino Brewery, and selections from local food trucks serving savory flatbread pizzas, grilled cheese sandwiches, Greek food, soft serve ice cream and more.

Organizers encourage guests to bring lawn chairs, picnic blankets, and pop-up tents to set up camp for the full day. The event is family-friendly, and designated tent areas allow groups to enjoy the music comfortably from the hillside overlooking the vineyard.
